Position Overview

Modern Law is a progressive, experimental, and growth-driven law firm looking for an exceptional Law Firm Administrator to lead administrative operations, drive firm-wide efficiency, and spearhead strategic initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a dynamic, self-confident, and highly capable professional who can operate independently, manage multiple projects, and execute forward-thinking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

High-Level Administration & Leadership

  • Oversee and enhance the firm’s HR, finance, facilities, and IT operations.
  • Manage and mentor administrative team members, including the HR Manager and Finance & Systems Manager.
  • Drive strategic growth projects, including office expansions, co-working space implementation, and operational innovations.
  • Ensure the firm is financially and operationally efficient by optimizing workflows and vendor contracts.

Project & Vendor Management

  • Take ownership of large-scale projects that drive firm growth.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring cost efficiency and quality service.
  • Identify and implement cutting-edge legal tech and business tools.

People & Culture Leadership

  • Ensure a high-performance administrative team while fostering a supportive, forward-thinking culture.
  • Assist with firm events.
  • Implement progressive policies to keep the firm innovative and competitive.
  • Work closely with leadership to build a long-term vision for Modern Law’s operational success.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in law firm management, business operations, or a related leadership role.
  • Experience managing people and large-scale projects with proven success.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and move forward with confidence.
  • Strong negotiation skills for vendor and contract management.
  • Forward-thinking, problem-solving mindset—embraces experimentation and growth.
  • Legal industry experience preferred—ideal for an attorney seeking a leadership role outside of practice.
  • Must be local and willing to travel between office locations.
